Who are you, and what kind of problems do you like working on?
I am me, and me I am. I've been around computers and programming since the dawn of the internet. BASIC started it all for me... I like building tools that improve processes, or help to solve productivity issues. Lately I've been building tools that I needed - job search, camping search... So maybe I just like to make life easier for my users.
Question 2 of 7
What are you building or working on right now?
Camprtron has taken over as my main project. WorkWomp started my journey though and it's still alive and kicking.
Camprtron is a niche campsite searching platform. It helps you find campsites that are close to the activities you love to do, which rather interesting specificity - A mountain that is over 12000' tall, and is within a 30 minute drive of the site. also within 300' of a perennial water source that can be filtered for drinking/cleaning.
WorkWomp is a platform designed to help job seekers find jobs that actually improve their quality of life. not just a paycheck and a skills match, but a job where the morals and and lifestyle of the job itself matches the person.
Question 3 of 7
What got you started on this?
For build in public? It was definitely job hunting. I was so tired of interviewing multiple times with companies and having trouble remembering what company had what perks, which sounded like a terrible fit for my personality, etc. Additionally. I got tired of updating spreadsheets. I built WorkWomp to handle all of that AND provide accurate rankings of my active job applications. I got my new job within 3 weeks of building and using WorkWomp and decided I should share it with everyone
Question 4 of 7
What's one thing that's changed your mind since you started building?
It's super hard to sell your product to people who are looking for work.
Marketing is way harder than it sounds, even after you've thought about it for a while.
Question 5 of 7
What's a moment that told you something was actually working?
When it worked for me? haha - when I had users sign up that I didn't know who they were. at least that the marketing was starting to work.
Question 6 of 7
What's something you're stuck on right now, in any of your projects?
marketing, marketing, marketing.
Question 7 of 7
What's one thing you'd want to share with first-time builders?
like everyone says - verify your product ideas before you go all in. even with vibe coded apps it still takes time and costs money to get it to a place that you can show the world. Also start thinking and working on your marketing game plan from day 1 - it goes hand in hand with researching your customers.

Question for BuildHop - when does the weekly leaderboard start/stop? There was one launch site I won't mention, peerpush, that put me on the daily leaderboard 2 hours before it ended so I never stood a chance of getting good ranking.
great question! the weekly leaderboard starts when you are approved, and ends exactly 7 days later making it a rolling leaderboard to give you a totally fair chance (inspired by the ring...sevennnn dayyyyysss)
Feel free to go give them a down-vote in the distribution tab! We've had a ton of Launch sites do this to LaunchChair as well, the daily leaderboards DO NOT WORK and these launch sites don't care!
Feature Request!
Don't hop products that have been hopped already - maybe have them in a "already hopped" list or something?
Another one - leave not anonymous feedback for extra carrots (hop points)
We could totally have feedback expose users given we know the trust is there and approved BuildHop users aren't likely to spam other users. Then just keep un-authed feedback anonymous. BUT, anonymous feedback you cant defend pushes change.
We have an algorithm change coming soon that's been finished for awhile. Users won't hop what they've already hopped unless they reach the end and hop again. But this will only be persistent for logged in users.
Added a job board to help those in need. It's small apples compared to the giants, but I think adding it in helps users understand the flow of how WorkWomp can help better.
gimme some feedback, if you dare

We’re going to make the design more obvious next week, but if you go to post an update here in this feed you’ll see a little checkbox that says “product update” click that.
Even if you don’t have a blog, use the update feature to say what you’ve changed or talk about a feature then add your link. But it’s crucial to add a link if you want the public backlink to your site.
Maybe I missed it, but can you explain the rankings - how do the different stats apply to the rankings: votes, dwell time, completion, momentum. I've noticed I have insanely high dwell time compared to some others. but is that good?
Dwell time is the average of how long people are sitting on your site within the Hop discovery feed, so I guess some people were on for incredibly long 🤣
Anything you want really! was the site easy to submit to, did you get some traffic? Was the submission process terrible, was there a crazy wait until your product is live? Use these vote buttons to help inform other founders.
gotcha. are y'all considering feedback so founders can say why they up/down voted? I have some negative reviews about a couple of the sites, but for very specific reasons, so it would be nice to provide that to other founders.
To anyone else that is having issues unlocking leads:
I use SSR on my site and it renders a blank page (no js hydration occurs during scanning) to some site scanners - including some SEO scanning
I had to update the landing page to provide content during SSR, and use JS only for interactive portions of the page.
This apparently happens for some scanners when they are not using a headless browser.
