Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of BuildHop. By accessing BuildHop, creating an account, submitting a product, voting, posting feedback, buying a paid feature, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms.
If you use BuildHop on behalf of a company or project, you confirm that you have authority to bind that company or project to these terms.
What BuildHop provides
BuildHop is a startup discovery platform for browsing products, submitting launches, collecting discovery signals, ranking products, and helping founders understand and share launch momentum.
We may add, change, suspend, or remove features as the product evolves. We try to avoid disrupting active founder workflows, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always remain available.
Accounts
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
- You may not share, sell, or transfer your account in a way that harms BuildHop or other users.
- You must promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk, abuse the service, or are required to be restricted by law.
Founder submissions
When you submit a product, you represent that you have the rights needed to submit and display the product information, logo, links, descriptions, screenshots, maker details, and related materials.
You grant BuildHop a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, display, distribute, modify for formatting, promote, and otherwise use submitted materials to operate, market, and improve BuildHop.
Review, ranking, and moderation
- BuildHop may review, approve, reject, hide, edit for formatting, reclassify, or remove submissions and feedback.
- Rankings, leaderboards, visibility, votes, skips, views, dwell time, badges, and other metrics may change over time and may be adjusted to prevent abuse or improve quality.
- BuildHop does not guarantee traffic, customers, rankings, sales, backlinks, search placement, or any specific launch result.
- We may remove fake, spammy, misleading, illegal, infringing, low-quality, or abusive activity.
Paid features
BuildHop may offer paid boosts or other paid features. Prices, availability, duration, and feature details are shown at checkout or in the product interface. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment processor.
Unless stated otherwise at purchase or required by law, paid features are not guaranteed to produce any particular outcome and may be non-refundable once delivered or activated.
Acceptable use
- Do not submit content that is illegal, deceptive, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, infringing, malicious, or designed to abuse users or systems.
- Do not manipulate votes, rankings, feedback, analytics, reviews, or discovery signals.
- Do not scrape, crawl, probe, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with BuildHop except as allowed by law or our published files and APIs.
- Do not upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, bypass security controls, or use BuildHop to spam others.
- Do not impersonate another person, company, product, or project.
Feedback and communications
If you send suggestions, ideas, bug reports, or other feedback, you allow BuildHop to use them without restriction or compensation. We may send transactional and service messages related to your account, submissions, feedback, paid features, security, and product activity.
Intellectual property
BuildHop, including its product design, software, brand, logos, copy, ranking systems, and related materials, is owned by BuildHop or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of BuildHop intellectual property to you.
You retain ownership of your submitted content, subject to the license you grant BuildHop to operate and promote the service.
Third-party links and services
BuildHop contains links to founder products, maker profiles, social platforms, payment providers, and other third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party sites, content, products, policies, or practices.
Disclaimers
BuildHop is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and uninterrupted operation.
Discovery metrics, rankings, analytics, and feedback are informational and may be incomplete, delayed, moderated, or changed.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, BuildHop will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, BuildHop's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid BuildHop in the three months before the claim or 100 USD.
Termination
You may stop using BuildHop at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk, cause harm, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and applicable state law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
