Who are you, and what kind of problems do you like working on?
I am me, and me I am. I've been around computers and programming since the dawn of the internet. BASIC started it all for me... I like building tools that improve processes, or help to solve productivity issues. Lately I've been building tools that I needed - job search, camping search... So maybe I just like to make life easier for my users.
Question 2 of 7
What are you building or working on right now?
Camprtron has taken over as my main project. WorkWomp started my journey though and it's still alive and kicking.
Camprtron is a niche campsite searching platform. It helps you find campsites that are close to the activities you love to do, which rather interesting specificity - A mountain that is over 12000' tall, and is within a 30 minute drive of the site. also within 300' of a perennial water source that can be filtered for drinking/cleaning.
WorkWomp is a platform designed to help job seekers find jobs that actually improve their quality of life. not just a paycheck and a skills match, but a job where the morals and and lifestyle of the job itself matches the person.
Question 3 of 7
What got you started on this?
For build in public? It was definitely job hunting. I was so tired of interviewing multiple times with companies and having trouble remembering what company had what perks, which sounded like a terrible fit for my personality, etc. Additionally. I got tired of updating spreadsheets. I built WorkWomp to handle all of that AND provide accurate rankings of my active job applications. I got my new job within 3 weeks of building and using WorkWomp and decided I should share it with everyone
Question 4 of 7
What's one thing that's changed your mind since you started building?
It's super hard to sell your product to people who are looking for work.
Marketing is way harder than it sounds, even after you've thought about it for a while.
Question 5 of 7
What's a moment that told you something was actually working?
When it worked for me? haha - when I had users sign up that I didn't know who they were. at least that the marketing was starting to work.
Question 6 of 7
What's something you're stuck on right now, in any of your projects?
marketing, marketing, marketing.
Question 7 of 7
What's one thing you'd want to share with first-time builders?
like everyone says - verify your product ideas before you go all in. even with vibe coded apps it still takes time and costs money to get it to a place that you can show the world. Also start thinking and working on your marketing game plan from day 1 - it goes hand in hand with researching your customers.

Sted: Save & Summarize Links

There's sooo much text on the homepage and too many buttons, I'm not sure what to do or what the product is even, then once I view a campsite theres really no content or anything interesting about it.
this cracks me up so much. there is an entire (short) section that details exactly what the app is. The first sentence is 24 words long and describes it perfectly.
"im too lazy to read" followed by "i have no idea what this does".
All the best. Maybe have a hero video of the app searching the map with functionalities? At first look i just think camprtron is just a website search? Where are your app store links? Wasted opportunity.
I'm confused by the last part - where are my app store links? Are web apps not good enough without iOS/android companion apps these days? I've been considering an iOS app, but it runs 100% fine in mobile web browser so....
that was exactly my plan. My only reason to do it before a solid user base is the app store could provide marketing by it being listed when people search for camping/hiking apps
We've done it! 50 states are supported in Camprtron!
it only took a month (minus a week off) to add everything. Please check it out and let me know if anything is cereally broken or not working, or any other feedback.
Just a heads up - Anyone thinking about posting on LaunchKiwi - I signed up, their badge verification failed despite their badge clearly being on my page, and they are not responding to support emails. I'm removing their badge now
Looks like vibe coded slop. And why am I seeing Cursor, Claude, and Figma on their homepage, taking exposure away from small launches for HUGE companies?
We now support 40 states in the US! The goal was to have all 50 this month, but alas, camping and hiking with the family for a week took precedence!
See if your state is officially supported at:
https://camprtron.com/camping
I spent all this week updating and improving my ETL process, fixing bugs in our data, and other various things. Now back to adding those last 10 states!
I think the biggest problem with your product is the landing page, the hero isn't compelling this should probably be a large search bar that get's people into the 'find camping' flow followed by top camp sites. You need to rework this ASAP!
Can't figure out how to improve the "demo" without giving users full access. The app is not (will not be) free, so if they can just use the landing page to do their search, why sign up?
I get the request to show functionality better...

I can see where the feedback is coming from, you might want to do a better job of explaining the features. You can also show mock data in a demo and maybe have public pages that serve as a promo opportunity with limited functionality.
We've added more states: KY/TN/VA/WV
We've also updated our site summaries on the marketing site. Just a quick little blurb about some (random) sites for each state.
What do you think, useful or not?
https://camprtron.com/camping
I have in the past… But LaunchChair was submitted months ago and not a peep. Honestly that website is such bullshit these days but the DR / SEO is grailed!
hmm. I emailed them a month ago and no response, and no fixes either. their account settings page is totally jacked.
thinking it's been abandoned/ 0 shits given
I really hate how the majority of these dumb sites require a backlink from you just to submit, and they refuse to post your product for 6+months. it's like eff you, it costs you nothing to provide me a backlink/dofollow
It’s incredibly fucking annoying! The old guard with high DR doesn’t give a single hot damn about the products on their website. Even putting all these damn badges in your footer is such a pain, that’s why BH isn’t pushy about it.
It's probably something I've done wrong, but I'm not getting data (verifieddr, history or backlinks) in the results view.
If I click on the view verifieddr page, it shows the ratings.
oh also - i just got an email from them to add my gsc account, so if that has something to do with it, disregard. I just added it to the 2 projects like 10 mins ago
Daily updates are, well, daily... Making lots of changes!
https://camprtron.com/data/coverage
just deployed 6 more states (The "Mountain West") today, plus a way to share specific campsites and save "favorite" sites for re-visiting them.
So yeah like backback / boomer camping, I used to do a lot of boomer camping when I was like 20, pretty sketchy, we would like take our jeeps and 4-wheel super sketchy trails in Cali into the deep wilderness and just camp haha.
hell yeah man! best kind of camping. no neighbors, just you, the sound of a babbling brook, and oh shit bear! RUNNNNN. (jk dont run from bears, they're faster than you)
"HEY BEAR, HEY BEAR, HEEEYYYYYY BEAR, YOU FUCK OFF BEAR" Is how I usually deal with bears. On the west coast i'm way more afraid of mountain lions than I am bears, and the bears here on the east coast are scared of anything.
Is there a way to change your product category? I should have picked Travel instead of Health and Wellness. I mean to me camping is a health and wellness activity, but google says Camprtron is a travel app, and google never lies
Feature Request!
on the Directories listings, it shows which one(s) you've submitted to. Now that I have 2 products, I don't know which one(s) the 2nd product has been submitted to. Can you add a product logo (per product) instead ?
Like replace the "submitted" pill with WorkWomp logo. then when I submit Camprtron, it'll display workwomp and camprtron logos? or something like that.
We’re going to make the launch switcher in the header control everything soon! Def doing some architectural work to make this happen already, we’re on it! 🤝
