Who are you, and what kind of problems do you like working on?
I am Thomas, now 55 and over 3 decades in tech. I love to build things that help people and give some real value. I also love sharing knowledge and I maintain a pretty big package suite for Flutter apps.
In most cases I start with an app because I have some personal need or know people you have it.
Question 2 of 7
What are you building or working on right now?
Currently working on two projects where one is the priority right now because I believe it will be easier to market.
1. Bedfit, a course and trainings app for men with sexual health problems. The method and the video course is from the German sexual therapist Till Zerfas. What's interesting about the project is that it has an AI support chat bot where we needed to ensure that it does not invent stull, so we integrated a knowledge base with vector embedding that feeds into all agent replies.
2. UUCScout, a SaaS to help you find and contact small social media creators for your next social media campaign
Question 3 of 7
What got you started on this?
What initially started me working on my own products was then I switched to exclusively work with Claude Code in September 25. Before that it always seemed way to complex and take too much time to launch my own apps, I was always working on bigger apps as a freelancer.
Question 4 of 7
What's one thing that's changed your mind since you started building?
Seeing people celebrating their MRRs on X motivated me to try it too and I have to admit, I thought it would be way easier to make money from apps. Reality is it is not easy at all unless your app has some very specific properties that make it easily go viral on social media or you have the money to fund a real campaign
Question 5 of 7
What's a moment that told you something was actually working?
To be honest, I am still waiting for this real moment. My first too apps make about $50MRR together. I am sure that one of my projects will finally take off, but still waiting for that moment.
Question 6 of 7
What's something you're stuck on right now, in any of your projects?
Well, with latinaugc.com we got completely stuck because we completely overestimated the demand for premade hook videos. We got easily a catalog of 1800 videos, but so far despite a lot of daily site visits we hardly have sold videos yet. We are currently trying to transform the platform to a real custom UGC agency with my Colombian partners, but it is not really my field.
With Don't Spiral I am currently struggling to find a potential replacement for Haiku 4.6 if that gets retired in the future because its successor 5.5 has a completely different personality and I haven't found any other model yet that is able to be as good.
Question 7 of 7
What's one thing you'd want to share with first-time builders?
Don't believe that making money with apps is a way to get rich quick. The success stories on X make you feel that if you are just start and put in enough work it will be easy. It is far from easy.
Please, ask yourself why are you building something. Work on something that you really want to build and not because other similar apps are successful. And please, be honest with yourself if the methods that you read about to make money fast are ethically OK. Just because you don't know the future users doesn't make a scam less of a scam.

Sites that are directed towards adults and adult problems should have some 18+ check first. Secondly - the header and the description have awful linebreaks. "You deserve great sex. Train for it." That's how it should look IMO Also since it's an app with videos it would be good if there was ANY sample video on the site.
I have no idea why a site talkingbsnd educating about sexual health should need a 18+ check. I just pushed a new version of the landing page with final screenshots, please have a look if it now looks ok
I think the 18+ was more aimed at being a disclaimer on Buildhop, some viewers might not want to see/read potentially sensitive content - I don't think it was aimed at your site specifically. As for the line breaks, it's not a visual bug I don't think either. You have the line break for your text between 'great' and 'sex'. So the first thing you see is 'You deserve great'. It makes me think: 'great... what?'. If your first line was 'You deserve great sex' (all on one line), it's much clearer :)
1. brown and orange does not affiliate sex/relationship vibes
2. there's one screen - but is it stop motion, video, slides, audio? Not clear
3. coach screen is missing
4.training screen is missing
5. onboarding is missing
1. Colors are mostly a matter of taste. But curious what color scheme would you associate with the topic?
One important aspect if you launch a product in this field and if you are not selling snake oil, is that you have to present you differently than the typical pages
2-5: agreed coming soon, getting the Coach working perfectly right took a bit longer than expected because you have to ensure that it does not invent anything.
The base is a video course of about 16h from Till
