Question 1
I have been in technology all of my life. When I was 16 and new to the internet, I launched a website design company called Designs On Demand. I landed a customer in another state and made them a website. From then on, I've stayed close to technology, working for Verizon Wireless for 10 years and later for a GovTech SaaS company. After a layoff in November 2025, I built a tool to help me find my next job. That's now RoleNavigator, and it inspired me to continue building for myself - as I'm the only one I can truly rely on. I build tools that are easy to use and make the user's lives easier.
Question 2
I am constantly improving RoleNavigator and CapQuick. RoleNavigator is for job seekers. The last two years (2025-2026) layoffs and regorgs have skyrocketed - driven by AI and financial downturn, there are more tech people in the job market now than ever before. Because of this, filtering and rejections are also increased. There are more people getting nothing back than those getting interviews by 30x. RoleNavigator helps take the hard part of job seeking and makes it into a system CapQuick is inspired by X's continual push toward a video format. CapQuick adds captions quickly to any video without taking any of your data, sharing any of it to the cloud, and with no monthly subscription. It's quick, easy and affordable.
Question 3
As mentioned above, after losing my job in November 2025, I was looking for a new role and built a tool that helped me find it. When I realized that's where my true power is, I couldn't stop.
Question 4
That you can iterate on really good ideas slowly over time. At first, I felt like development was a race. While speed to market is important, it isn't the driving factor of what makes or breaks a business or a solution.
Question 5
Every time I saw another layoff in the news, I knew this solution was more important than ever.
Question 6
Onboarding, acquisition, and retention. Feedback is important, but I'm working on how best to get feedback from my users and act on it.
Question 7
Just go for it. The doubt will remain, even after you start. Even after you get your first paying customer, the doubt is still there. So, you might as well be trying.
