Question 1 of 7
Real-world problems, even if someone already "solved" them. People who build things nowadays are just humans like you, not better than you, so go and challenge the status quo. If it also solves a problem of my own, it's even more rewarding to work on. And building just to learn is great too.
Question 2 of 7
I'm working on a couple of tools, but my main focus right now is Artor.app. I'm also contributing a lot to the open-source community with amplo.ale.design and ethereal.ale.design. I co-founded two other companies and I'm still active on both: maestrio.ai, which does automated agentic actions and PRs based on feedback, and heedb.com, a quick and easy way to collect feedback and offer customer support straight from your app. I'm also building gatecast.app, a touch driver for macOS that enables multitouch on any cheap touch monitor. Later it will become a fully fledged "stream deck."
Question 3 of 7
My earliest memories are of taking toys apart and building jigs to make things. I guess you don't choose to be a builder and inventor. You're born like that. For Artor, it clicked after a rough patch in my life. The last thing in that run of events was getting laid off from the company I'd worked at for almost 5 years. During the interview process I noticed I was a strong candidate because of the way I think and build. I could trace those teams' pains back to something that comes easy to me: deploying, building, and collecting feedback into an abstracted layer that frees other teams to build and experiment. So I decided to turn that into a product.
Question 4 of 7
People, friends, partnerships and trust are your biggest assets. I knew they were important, but the older I get, the more I see that life is about people, the journey, love and fun!
Question 5 of 7
The first one was early on, when Artor got its first heavy user. Someone was actually using the thing I built, a lot! Now an enterprise is running a pilot, and the best part is that employees are signing up on their own. Nobody's pushing them. That's when you know you're onto something.
Question 6 of 7
Marketing and getting customers, for sure. They're slowly coming in, but standing out in a sea of vibe-coded side projects (great as experiments, just not ready to ship) takes a lot of effort and contacts. Building great things takes effort and care, and sometimes it will bring you to your knees. If you're looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, stop and think about what kind of person you want to be: a weight on the world, or someone who pushes humanity forward.
Question 7 of 7
I still consider myself a first-time builder, I guess?! But my best advice: don't get married to an idea. Be ready to drop it or pivot when things don't line up. Validation and distribution are key. And it's okay to have hobby projects. Not everything has to make money. The learning will help you connect the dots later. Watch Steve Jobs' Stanford speech, it's a must.

Very cool idea. But this is a landing page so you should be promoting more on your product - what proplems your customer is having, what benefits you provide how you are pricing over your competitors
InvxThanks for checking it out and for the feedback! The core idea is the MCP server: instead of logging into yet another invoicing dashboard, you just tell your AI agent "invoice Acme for 12 hours at €80" and it's done, PDF included. It's also completely free. It started as a tool for me and a couple of friends and I've now opened it up to everyone. Fair point that the page doesn't mention it's free or spell out why you'd want this over a regular invoicing app, so I'll add that. Appreciate it!

love a good color picker. what is the weird line on the right? it mikght be nice to have a little more info on the main page, but otherwise nice
Hey, thanks for the feedback! The line indicates where the wide gamut starts (on this demo P3 color space) and when you need a wide color gamut display to be able to display those colors - most phones and macbook nowadays. The idea is to be an unstyled color / fill picker that is composable - you can play on the playground and see all it can do for you!

I cannot figure out how this is useful, and your landing page has very little information to tell me why. You're not grabbing my attention enough to actually click thru and figure it out either
GatecasterThat's fine! Appreciate the feedback, it's overly specific for a niche but I'll work a bit on the copy, it's too abstract

Shipped password-protected links in Artor, built with a lot of care and craftr. Help me test? Open it, click around, comment on anything off. https://s-fheas9rav4jvbvchoy.preview.artor.app/ pass: testing-artor try a wrong one first ;)
Hey I think you got things a bit confused bro, this is just demoing the password protection to things you push to Artor, a new feature to protect your links. The la ding page is at https://Artor.app/ but I appreciate the honesty as always.

I have been playing with your folder animation for the last couple minutes. Very satisfied. Nice work.
ArtorHA, thank you! it was a looot of work to make that right, happy you liked it.

One thing that is profoundly confusing is the fake app within the demo is too interactive and has your products branding, it makes me think that's what your product is, then i clicked "Skills" in the demo and it linked me to another page?
ArtorConfusing indeed! Sorry about that. I need to add that part in, or remove it - it's not the core value prop, it's a way manage the skills your team uses to make it easy to onboard or setup new projects so everyone has your internal / recommended skills. Very experimental still
First things first: thanks! =D I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on guided tours. I worked at a company where they were the core business for five years, but I often found them annoying and blocking. One idea I’ve been considering is using tabs to guide users through the main features: Organize, Version, Feedback, and Iterate, the core loop. Maybe that’s what he was referring to.
Damn dude, way to iterate on your homepage based on feedback! The new homepage looks awesome and the product demos are super cool! Consider having an animated guide that points out what to do in the hero demo?

This is awesome! And the new homepage looks great! I just looked again based off this feedback and I agree that a guide within the hero section demo app might be awesome, but keep it in the demo area and not site wide.

After playing with it a little more it’s confusing that the demo app for the demo has your branding and it’s far too interactive. The demo app should obviously be fake, it almost seems like that’s what your product is.
